The Six Bells 6 June 2026

Weekend Retro performed an excellent, energetic and highly skilled show at The Six Bells on Saturday 6th of June. Customers and staff alike thoroughly enjoyed the performance throughout the evening, and many a dance move was enjoyed with the infectious energy the band brought to the pub. The set list was excellent, and had everyone leaping up on the dance floor!

We all thank and highly recommend Weekend Retro to anyone planning an event or party for any occasion!

Everything about WRT is immense- their stage presence, their ability to get people up and dancing, their professionalism, and their attitude to making your event as special as possible. Just to say what a great job you and the band did last night.

You were absolutely fantastic, and had folks up and dancing from the first song.

By the time you finished your second set EVERYONE was leaping up and down on the dance floor (I have the video to prove it!).

A great choice of numbers, played with amazing energy and skill. I would absolutely recommend the band to anyone planning a party for any occasion.

We hired Weekend Retro team for our joint 70th birthday party. We love live music and dancing, and the band did not disappoint.  On the day, they arrived promptly, set up and sound-checked quickly – a really friendly and easy going band.  They had provided a set list from which we had chosen 30 songs spanning the decades from the 60’s to the noughties, all great tunes which everyone enjoyed. All our guests had a great time and commented how good the band were – the dancefloor was packed all night. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a live band for a special party!

We hired Weekend Retro for a double “dance til you drop”  retirement party.  We couldn’t be more happy with our decision. They were really good to deal with in the run up to the event with clear communication, a great list of songs to choose from for the two sets played, and even agreed to set up our playlist in between band sessions.  The music and singing were fantastic on the night and the dance floor was packed. They really created the best possible party atmosphere and it was a truly memorable and happy occasion. Enormous thanks to everyone involved – you were all absolutely great! We cannot recommend Weekend Retro highly enough.

We hired the band for a joint 50th birthday party after hearing them at a local event. We got quick responses to requests which made arranging a date, requesting information and follow up communications easy.  The band provided a list of songs for us to choose from, but they were also happy to add any new songs (providing they had time to rehearse them).

On the day of the event, it was great to meet them. They are a really friendly and easy going band. They arrived at the time arranged to set up, and on the night the music was played with skill and enjoyed by all. Highly recommended!

We were up and dancing and just loving all the tunes. They had made an effort to relearn some of my favourite songs from the set list, and didn’t disappoint! Weekend Retro Team were great! Communication before the event was excellent. We’ve had lots of feedback from our guests on how much they enjoyed the music. Despite the heatwave, they still got people up and dancing!

This band were fantastic. We had them for our village Jubilee Street Party and they played fantastic music to suit all ages. Everyone enjoyed it and wanted to know who they were. They even played the National Anthem for us, rock style, which went down brilliantly! Thanks again for your professionalism, you really helped make the day!

We run a small pub in Oxford and were looking for a good local band to help us celebrate our 150th birthday. We’d seen the guys from Weekend Retro Team play before and after contacting them they came in to talk to us about our requirements and get a feel for what type of set we wanted. They came and played two sets packed wall to wall with songs that were effectively the soundtrack of our lives and were brilliant from the start of the process to the end of the night when they were taking their bows from a delighted audience. And being fantastic musicians and people, they came back a few weeks later to play a very special Charity night for a local cause, where (if they could) they played even better than the first time here. All in all, we’d recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone in the Oxford area who’s looking for a good solid band to rock out to over an evening. Thank you WRT!
